Assisted Living & Memory Care near Katy, TX
Avanti Senior Living at Towne Lake is in Cypress, a short drive north of Katy. It’s on Barker Cypress Road, right next to Kroger and close to The Boardwalk at Towne Lake. Assisted living and memory care are both here. Avanti’s memory care program is called Salize.
Why Katy families look at Avanti Towne Lake
- It’s close enough to visit often. From Katy Mills or Cinco Ranch it’s about half an hour on the Grand Parkway. That’s a weeknight dinner, not a weekend trip.
- Memory care is right here too. If your parent’s needs change, they don’t have to change communities.
- Care plans are personal. Every resident has one. Care partners help with bathing, dressing and grooming, and we handle medication management and housekeeping.
- Couples can stay close. When only one spouse needs memory care, one can live in assisted living and the other in Salize.
- There’s a room for the grandkids. Our “A” Crew family room is set up for grandkids to spend time with their grandparents.
- Hospitals nearby. Four of them within about 10 miles.
Getting here from Katy
Towne Lake is 16 to 17 miles from central Katy. Figure on around 25 minutes when traffic is light, and 35 or more at rush hour.
From Old Town Katy, Katy Mills or Cinco Ranch: Get on the Grand Parkway (SH 99) heading north from I-10 and exit at FM 529. Go east on FM 529, turn left (north) on Barker Cypress Road, then left on Lakecrest View Drive.
Toll-free option: The Grand Parkway between I-10 and US 290 is a cashless toll road (it takes EZ TAG, TxTag or TollTag). Rather skip the tolls? Take I-10 east to Barker Cypress Road and drive north about 9 miles. In light traffic that only adds about five minutes.
Our office is open 8:00 am to 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Book a time before you come and someone will be ready to show you around.
What assisted living at Towne Lake includes
Assisted living is for older adults who want to stay independent but could use some help with the daily routine. At Towne Lake it includes:
- A personalized care plan
- Help from care partners with bathing, dressing, grooming and personal care
- Medication management and housekeeping
- Chef-prepared meals at Taste Restaurant
- Daily exercise classes in the Mind • Body • Strength wellness program
- Classes, activities and social events
There’s an on-site salon and spa, too. Residents can choose a private room with easy access to an outside patio, or shared accommodations if they want more assistance. Either way, they’re welcome to bring their own furniture and keepsakes. The monthly rate depends on the care plan, so ask for a written list of what’s included for your parent when you visit.
Salize memory care at Towne Lake
Salize is Avanti’s memory care program for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Avanti’s care model has four levels of care. Salize is the highest. The program is built on specialized exercise, healthy nutrition, a full and active day, and medication management, with the aim of helping each resident live with purpose.
Salize care partners are specially trained in dementia care. They help with grooming, bathing and dressing.
The living areas have high ceilings and big windows, so there’s plenty of natural light. For time outdoors there’s a secure patio and a courtyard garden. And when someone wants quiet, the serenity room is a good place to read or reflect. Days include exercise, arts and crafts, educational programs and brain-training games on tablets. There’s also the morning newspaper, read together with a care partner. Cleaning and laundry are included.
Not ready for a full move? The Salize Transition Program introduces your parent to the community a little at a time, through short visits, activities, classes and meals over several weeks to several months. Short-term stays are another option, and they give family caregivers time to rest or travel.

What it costs and how families pay
Avanti doesn’t publish prices, because the monthly cost depends on your parent. It mostly comes down to:
- Level of care. Avanti has four levels of care, and more help usually means a higher cost.
- Assisted living or memory care. Memory care generally costs more, since it involves more support.
- The apartment. Private rooms, shared accommodations and different floor plans are priced differently.
Whatever community you’re considering, ask what the monthly rate includes, what costs extra, and whether there’s a one-time move-in fee.
Families usually pay from a mix of sources:
- Savings, income or the sale of a home.
- VA Aid and Attendance. Veterans and surviving spouses who get a VA pension may qualify for this extra monthly payment if they need another person’s help with daily activities like bathing and dressing.
- Long-term care insurance. Most policies pay once a person needs help with two or more of six activities of daily living, or has a cognitive impairment. There’s often a waiting period first. Call the insurer to confirm coverage.
- Medicare doesn’t pay for long-term care.
